Where is God when the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted?
Let the wicked be caught in the plots which they scheme.
The wicked boast of their evil desires. The greedy curse and mock God. They deny God and seem to prosper in their evil.
They are committed to evil throughout their lives.
They believe they are immune from God's judgement.
They curse, deceive, and oppress.
They lurk to prey on the innocent.
They are stealth in the community to harm the unfortunate.
They draw the needy into their net.
They believe God does not see their hidden schemes.
Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up Your hand, and remember the afflicted. Why has the wicked spurned God and lied to himself about what God requires?
But God has seen the evil of the wicked and will raise His hand to deliver.
The unfortunate commits himself to You, God. You are the helper of the orphan.
Break the arm of the wicked and the evildoer, Seek out his wickedness until You find none.
The Lord is King forever and ever; Nations have perished from His land.
O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble; and strengthen their heart.
You will incline Your ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed, So the wicked of this world will no longer cause terror.
