Philanthropist Widow

Acts 9:36-42

Peter sent them all out, knelt down, and prayed. Then, he said, “Tabitha, arise.”

Tabitha was a widowed businesswoman who philanthropically helped the poor: other widows, and orphans.

Tabitha died, so her women friends sent for Peter.

When Peter arrived and saw the body, he made everyone (widows and other lady friends) leave the room. He shut the door.

Peter knelt and prayed. Then he told Tabitha, "Arise." She came back to life. Peter called the friends back in.

Tabitha returned to life, and to her friends, to her business, to her loving charity.
