Anna became a widow after only seven years of marriage.
Thereafter, she was devouted to prayer and fasting, seeking God for the coming of the Messiah, as promised in the Old Testament prophecies.
After the birth of Jesus, Joseph and Mary brought him to the Temple, to present him to God.
Anna was there in the Temple. She met her Messiah. God answered her prayer.
